The model is based on the combination of several prototypes, including bandstands in New Orleans, LA; Boston, MA; Providence, RI; and Pawtucket, RI. Its general style follows bandstands that were designed in the early 1900s – most of which are still in use today. Used to enhance the acoustics of a live band performance and protect band members from weather conditions, bandstands like this can be found all around the world in city parks or other public gathering places.
The bandstand is available in two variations – with or without railings and stairs. Each kit is produced as an on-demand rapid prototype as one part. No assembly is required. Kit instruction sheet with suggested paint colors is available for download from the American Archetype web site.
American Archetype’s the Grande Bandstand, with railings and stairs sells for $40.00. Bandstand, without railings and stairs sells for $34.00.
