Good morning and welcome to March 15, 2012. The long awaited day when BLMA announces their new N scale freight car: GA 3500 DryFlo Covered Hoppers!
General American began building these 3500 cuft capacity covered hoppers in 1959. Aside from your typical RR paint schemes, numerous private entities owned their own cars or leased the cars through General American’s lease fleet of GACX marked cars.

BLMA’s model will feature all the fine detail and key features one might expect including etched running boards, body mounted MTL couplers, and BLMA’s 70-ton ASF Ride Control Trucks with metal 33″ wheelsets of their new improved design. The cars will retail for $26.95 and are set to be delivered 4th Quarter 2012.
The first roadnames out the gate are Burlington Northern, CNW (nee-CGW), Pennsylvania, Union Pacific, GACX Diamond Sugar, and GACX Shell Plastics. The art for each is shown below.
