Rapido has announced two new N scale passenger cars.

The 10-5 sleeper follows Pullman-Standard Plan 4186.  They were originally built for the CN and Erie railroads.  Erie’s later went to Erie Lackawanna, and one 10-5 eventually made it all the way to Conrail’s office train (OCS-Office Car Special) as CR 11.

The Cafe-Bar-Lounge represents a car that CN rebuilt from a standard coach in the 1970’s.  It’s a good choice for Rapido since they have previously released the same coach that the prototype used.  CN’s black and white new image scheme and VIA would be prototypical, but other railroad’s lounge cars could provide inspiration for many colorful paint schemes.
