Centralia Car Shops has announced a large run of full length Pullman-Standard baggage cars. The model, based on a Northern Pacific prototype, will be available in 16 roadnames right off the bat.
In 1949, Southern Pacific took delivery of 5 dining cars from Pullman Standard. These cars were built to Plan 7579A. Four cars were delivered in the Overland two-tone-gray (TTG) scheme, while the fifth car was painted in Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray to match UP equipment in the City of San Francisco pool.
Centralia Car Shops has announced two styles of dining cars. The “Western” and “Eastern” versions refer to the prototype car used as a basis for each model, and not necessarily the scheme being painted.
I’m dedicating this consist to friend and World Champion San Francisco Giants fan Chuck Ciaccio. Back in the day, the San Francisco Chief would have brought me from Chicago to San Fran to visit.
